How to delete your Fiverr account
Fiverr is a global freelance services marketplace (NYSE: FVRR) used by millions of buyers and sellers worldwide to trade "Gigs" in design, writing, video, programming and marketing. Your account holds far more than a username: the public seller/buyer profile and photo, every Gig listing and portfolio sample, the complete order history with delivered source files, the full buyer–seller inbox, reviews you left and received, payment and payout details, billing address and tax forms, plus government-ID scans and selfies if you ever completed ID verification. Fiverr keeps a legally-required paper trail of your transactions and invoices independently of your account, and it separates "deactivation" (a reversible pause) from "permanent deletion" (irreversible, and only self-service inside the mobile apps).
Delete your Fiverr account, step by step
- 1Withdraw or refund every cent of your available balance — Fiverr states that "accounts with a Fiverr balance or earned revenues cannot be deactivated or deleted"
- 2Download everything you still need — delivered order files, message attachments and invoices — because once the account is deleted Fiverr "cannot edit or reissue invoices or any other account information"
- 3If you ever intend to open a new Fiverr account with the same email address, change your email now under "Account settings" > "Personal information" > "Email", because Fiverr warns usernames and email addresses may not be reusable after deletion
- 4To delete permanently, open the Fiverr iOS or Android app (permanent deletion is not offered on the desktop website) and tap the profile icon
- 5Under "Settings", tap "Account"
- 6Under "Account management", tap "Deactivation and deletion"
- 7Choose "Delete account", then tap "Continue to Account Deletion"
- 8Select a reason from the list
- 9Tap "Delete account", then confirm the deletion — this is irreversible and the account cannot be restored
- 10Desktop-only alternative: click your profile picture > "Account settings", go to "Personal information", click "Deactivate" next to "Deactivate account", select a reason and click "Confirm deactivation"
- 11Then open the Fiverr Help Center at help.fiverr.com and use the "Contact us" tab at the bottom of the page — writing from the email address registered to the account — and state that you want your personal data permanently deleted from Fiverr's servers
What actually happens when you delete

- ✗Reviews, ratings and feedback you left or received stay published on the marketplace — after permanent deletion they appear as anonymous rather than being removed
- ✗Chat history and public images stay on the platform: after deactivation they remain visible and still associated with you, and after permanent deletion they remain but appear as anonymous
- ✗Data from closed accounts retained to comply with applicable laws, prevent fraud, collect any fees owed, resolve disputes, assist investigations and enforce Fiverr's terms
- ✗Files you already delivered to buyers (and files buyers sent you) — the other party keeps their copies
- ✗Cached Google/Bing results showing your old profile picture and Gigs until search engines re-crawl; Fiverr explicitly says this is a Google process outside its control
- ✗Everything, for a full 12 months, if you only deactivated — deactivation hides the account, and Fiverr deletes it only at the 12-month mark
Before you delete
Three real traps. (1) Money blocks everything: any available balance or earned revenue must be withdrawn or refunded first, and revenue from completed orders is only withdrawable once Fiverr's clearance period has passed — so funds that have not yet cleared can stall the process. (2) The desktop site cannot permanently delete — it only deactivates. Many users think they deleted their account when they only paused it, and a deactivated account still holds all their data for 12 months before Fiverr auto-deletes it. Permanent deletion is offered in the mobile apps, or via Customer Support after deactivating on desktop. (3) Deletion does not scrub the marketplace: reviews, chat logs and public images survive and are merely anonymised, and Fiverr's privacy policy says data from closed accounts is retained to comply with law, prevent fraud, collect fees owed, resolve disputes and enforce its terms. Download invoices and delivered files first — Fiverr says it cannot retrieve information or reissue invoices afterwards. Fiverr's cloud servers are in the United States. The controller is Fiverr International Ltd., 8 Kaplan St., Tel Aviv, Israel; the privacy policy names [email protected] for exercising your rights, gives Fiverr Germany GmbH, Westendstrasse 28, 60325 Frankfurt am Main, Germany as the GDPR contact, and lists [email protected] as the Data Protection Officer.
Download your data from Fiverr first
Most platforms only honor a data-export request while the account is still active. Do this before you delete.

Fiverr deletion FAQs
Why won't Fiverr let me deactivate or delete my account?+
The blocker Fiverr names is money. Its help article states plainly that accounts with a Fiverr balance or earned revenues cannot be deactivated or deleted — you must withdraw your available funds through your configured withdrawal method, or refund any remaining balance, before the option will go through. Note that earnings from completed orders only become withdrawable after Fiverr's clearance period, so a seller sitting on funds that have not yet cleared has to wait for them to become available first.
Can I permanently delete my Fiverr account from the website?+
No. Fiverr's help centre states that permanent deletion is available through the Fiverr Android and iOS apps or through Customer Support. On the desktop website the only self-service option is deactivation — Fiverr's own instruction is that if you want to initiate deletion on the desktop site, you deactivate your account and then contact Customer Support to request permanent deletion, writing from the email registered to the account.
What happens to my reviews and ratings when I delete my Fiverr account?+
They stay on the marketplace. Fiverr's FAQ says public contributions — reviews, chat history and public images — stay visible after deactivation, and that when the account is permanently deleted the content "will appear as anonymous and will not be associated with you." So the star ratings and review text a buyer wrote about your Gig do not disappear; only your name comes off them.
Can I get my Fiverr account back after deleting it?+
Not if you permanently deleted it — Fiverr says once you confirm permanent deletion the action cannot be reversed and the account cannot be restored. A deactivated account is different: you can request reactivation from Customer Support using the email registered to the account, but only within 12 months. Fiverr warns that 12 months after deactivation the account is deleted, after which reactivation is no longer possible and you cannot access any of its content.
Can I reuse my Fiverr username or email address on a new account?+
Assume no. Fiverr's FAQ says "you may not be able to reuse your username and email address after an account is deleted," and the article's own advice is that if you plan to open a new account with the same email address, you should change the email address on the old account before deactivating it.
How do I download my Fiverr data and get my profile off Google before deleting?+
Fiverr has no self-service export button. Its Data and privacy article says you submit a request to Customer Support using the 'Contact us' tab at the bottom of the help centre, and the team responds with a downloadable link that stays active for 48 hours for security reasons — so grab it immediately. Do this before deletion, because Fiverr says it cannot retrieve information or reissue invoices once an account is deleted. For search engines, Fiverr says removal of profile images and content from Google results is a Google process it is not in a position to address, so use Google's own removal tool once the profile page is gone.
