How to delete your Behance account

Social MediaOwned by AdobeSelf-service onlineDifficulty: EasyTime: instantVerified June 2026

Behance is Adobe's portfolio platform for designers and creative professionals, with around 30 million users. Behance stores all your project uploads (full-resolution images and videos), 'appreciations' (likes), views, comments, the followers/following graph, your discoverable Adobe ID, and links to your Adobe Creative Cloud subscriptions. Behance is highly indexed by Google and serves as a primary portfolio for many designers.

Delete your Behance account, step by step

  1. 1Sign in to behance.net
  2. 2Click your avatar > 'Settings'
  3. 3Open the 'Privacy' tab
  4. 4Scroll to 'Deactivate or Delete' at the bottom
  5. 5Choose 'Delete Profile' (the Adobe ID stays — only the Behance profile is removed)
  6. 6Confirm — profile, projects, and appreciations are removed immediately

What actually happens when you delete

Gets removed

  • Your Behance username, profile, avatar, and bio
  • All projects (full-resolution images, videos, work-in-progress)
  • Appreciations and comments you gave
  • Followers, following, and team memberships
  • Custom URL and resume/CV uploaded to Behance

Stays behind

  • Your Adobe ID and Creative Cloud subscription (Behance deletion is profile-only)
  • Cached project images on Google Images and design aggregator sites
  • Appreciations you gave other projects (re-attributed)
  • Records Adobe retains for billing, fraud, and legal compliance
  • Project images that were saved or pinned by others on Pinterest, Mood Boards, etc.

Before you delete

Deleting your Behance profile does NOT delete your Adobe ID — Creative Cloud, Lightroom, and other Adobe services continue to work. To delete the Adobe ID as well, go to account.adobe.com/privacy. Download your project images and videos FIRST — Behance has no bulk-download tool and you'd need to save each project source manually. Comments and appreciations remain on other people's projects but become re-attributed.

Download your data from Behance first

Most platforms only honor a data-export request while the account is still active. Do this before you delete.

  1. 1Behance does not offer a bulk data export. Download project source files individually by visiting each project page and saving images. For account metadata, request access via account.adobe.com/privacy (Behance is part of Adobe).

Want to take a break instead? Deactivate

Deactivation hides your profile without permanently destroying it. Logging back in restores everything.

  1. 1Open Settings > 'Privacy'
  2. 2Click 'Deactivate profile' (the option above 'Delete')
  3. 3Profile is hidden from public view but data is retained
  4. 4Reactivate by signing in any time

You have a legal right to request erasure of your personal data under GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA (California). Use these official channels if the self-service flow doesn't work.

Behance deletion FAQs

Does deleting Behance delete my Adobe Creative Cloud subscription?+

No. Behance is part of Adobe but the Behance profile is separate from the Adobe ID. Deleting Behance removes only your portfolio; Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Premiere, etc. continue normally. To delete everything Adobe, go to account.adobe.com/privacy.

How do I download my Behance projects before deletion?+

There's no bulk-export button. Visit each project page and save images, videos, and PDFs manually. For larger portfolios, use browser tools or scripts to download project assets in batches via the public Behance URLs.

Will my Behance projects disappear from Google Images?+

The source URLs return 404 after deletion, but cached thumbnails can stay in Google Images for weeks to months. Submit removal requests via Google's 'Remove outdated content' tool for specific images you want gone.

What's the difference between deactivating and deleting Behance?+

Deactivation hides your profile and projects but keeps everything saved — you can come back at any time. Deletion removes the profile data. If you're not 100% sure, deactivate first.

Will appreciations and comments I left on others' projects disappear?+

Comments stay but are re-attributed. Appreciations (likes) you gave are removed from your activity log but the count on the original project may not decrement immediately.

What about Behance Portfolio (myportfolio.com sites)?+

Adobe Portfolio sites are tied to your Adobe ID, not specifically to Behance. Deleting the Behance profile may or may not affect a connected Portfolio site — manage Portfolio separately at myportfolio.com.
