Privacy Policy

The short version

Scrub exists to help you find and reduce your online exposure. We collect the minimum we need to do that: your account details and the emails, usernames, and domains you ask us to scan. We never ask for or store your passwords for other services, we don't sell your data, and you can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings.

What we collect

• Account information — your name, email address, and authentication details, managed by our authentication provider (Clerk).
• Scan inputs — the email addresses, usernames, and domains you add to your account so we can scan for matches.
• Scan results — the publicly available account and breach information we find that is tied to your scan inputs.
• Billing information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

What we never collect

• Passwords for any third-party service.
• Access to your accounts on other platforms — we only check public information.

How we use your data

• To run the scans you request and show you the results.
• To send verification codes, scan reports, and (on Guardian) breach alerts.
• To operate, secure, and improve the service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers below, as required to operate Scrub.

Service providers

• Clerk — authentication and account management.
• Stripe — payment processing.

How we protect it

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted and logged. See our Security page for details.

Your rights & data deletion

You can view and remove any scan input from the Properties page, dismiss individual results, and permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. Depending on where you live (GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws), you may also have rights to access, correct, or export your data — contact us and we'll honor them.
