How to delete your Poshmark account

ShoppingOwned by NAVER CorporationSelf-service onlineDifficulty: ModerateTime: About 5 minutes to click through once your balances are settled. If you have just requested a redemption, Poshmark says it "requires up to 10 business days from the time a redemption request is made prior to completing an account deletion", and the public request page says processing "may take a few days". Transaction records can persist about 7 years.Verified July 2026

Poshmark is a social resale marketplace for secondhand clothing, shoes, accessories, home goods and beauty, and one of the largest resale platforms in the US and Canada. It was acquired by South Korea's NAVER Corporation in a deal that closed in January 2023, though it still operates as Poshmark, Inc. from Redwood City, California. Because it is simultaneously a social network and a payments business, a Poshmark account holds an unusually wide spread of personal data. The privacy policy says the information you provide may include "your name, address (including relevant shipping and delivery information), phone number, email, username, sizing, social media accounts, gender, age, education (college and class year)", plus the card and bank details used to pay for and receive money from sales. Sellers pushed through identity verification have handed over more: Poshmark says it "may collect certain identification information, such as driver's license information, date of birth, social security number, and passport number", and may run photo verification "which may also involve the collection, processing, and retention of face geometry data or other similar data, which may be considered as biometric data in some jurisdictions". Layered on top is your entire commerce and social history: listings and photos, closet, offers, bundles, comments, Posh Show content, searches and completed orders.

Delete your Poshmark account, step by step

  1. 1Settle your money first. Poshmark's help article says deletion will fail if you have any pending transactions ("which can include unreceived orders, tracking delays, and open returns"), redeemable balances, or gift cards with balances. Redeem your earnings, let open orders and returns close, and spend down any gift card balance
  2. 2If you just requested a redemption, wait. Poshmark "requires up to 10 business days from the time a redemption request is made prior to completing an account deletion"
  3. 3Spend any Posh Credits before you go. The Terms describe them as "non-redeemable promotional credits" that "cannot, unless required by law, be redeemed for cash or cash equivalents", so a leftover credit balance is simply lost
  4. 4If you want a copy of your data, request it BEFORE you delete, at https://poshmark.com/account/export — once the account and its data are gone there is nothing left to send you
  5. 5ON THE WEB: sign in at poshmark.com and select your profile picture at the top-right of the page
  6. 6Select "Account Settings"
  7. 7From the left-hand menu, select "Manage Account Status"
  8. 8Select "Delete My Account"
  9. 9Select a "Reason"
  10. 10Select "Delete My Account" again
  11. 11Select "Yes" to confirm. A pop-up confirms the account has been deleted
  12. 12IN THE APP instead: go to your Me Tab (profile picture, bottom-right corner), select "Seller Tools", then under Settings select "Profile", then "Account Info", then "Manage Account Status", then "Delete My Account", then a "Reason", then "Delete My Account", then "Yes"
  13. 13Do not bother emailing support to do it for you. Poshmark states plainly: "we cannot process any deletion requests that are submitted through a written request to Poshmark Support"
  14. 14If you cannot sign in — or never had an account but Poshmark holds your data — use https://poshmark.com/account/delete instead and submit your email address, then click the verification link Poshmark emails you. Poshmark does not process the request unless you confirm by email
  15. 15Afterwards, follow Poshmark's own instruction: "delete the app from all your devices, clear your history, cookies, and cache from your web browser." Deleting the app on its own does not delete the account

What actually happens when you delete

Gets removed

  • Your public closet and profile — username, profile photo, bio, closet name, size and brand preferences, and your follower/following connections
  • Your listings, active and sold, including photos, descriptions and prices; they come off the marketplace and out of Poshmark search
  • Your likes, shares, comments, offers and bundles, and items saved from other people's closets
  • Saved payment methods, stored shipping and billing addresses, and payout details kept on file for future use
  • Your access to order history, Posh Show content and in-app messages — you lose the ability to view or download any of it
  • Any remaining Posh Credits or promotional credit balance, which the Terms say cannot be converted to cash
  • Your marketing and advertising profile going forward — Poshmark stops collecting new activity data on the account

Stays behind

  • Transaction and payment records for completed orders. The privacy policy states that "requirements related to financial transactions and anti-money laundering purposes often require us to keep certain information for 7 years but may vary depending on your location"
  • Identity-verification material — driver's licence data, date of birth, social security number, passport number and any face-geometry/biometric data captured by Poshmark's third-party verification vendor — where it is held for legal, tax, audit, compliance or fraud-prevention reasons
  • Information Poshmark is required to keep by law: the policy says it may "be required (by law or otherwise) to retain this information and not delete it", and will "comply with your deletion request only after we have fulfilled such requirements"
  • Anything kept for "reasonable backup, archival, audit, legal, tax, accounting, compliance, or other similar purposes", including material tied to an open dispute or investigation
  • The other side of every trade — buyers and sellers you dealt with keep their own order records, and shipping labels already in circulation carry your name and address
  • Anything that already left Poshmark: listings screenshotted or reshared to social media, search-engine caches, and third-party reseller-analytics sites that scraped your closet
  • Anonymous, aggregated or de-identified data, which the privacy policy treats as no longer personal information

Before you delete

Verified against Poshmark's own help article "How to delete my account" (article #000004250) and the Poshmark Legal Center (Terms of Service v4.6 / current Privacy Policy) on 23 July 2026. The real gotchas are financial, not technical: deletion fails while you hold pending transactions (unreceived orders, tracking delays, open returns), a redeemable balance, or a gift card with a balance — and Poshmark needs up to 10 business days after a redemption request before it will finish a deletion. Posh Credits are a trap: the Terms call them non-redeemable promotional credits that "cannot, unless required by law, be redeemed for cash or cash equivalents", so spend them first. Support cannot delete for you — Poshmark says written deletion requests to Support are not processed; the only routes are the in-account flow or the public request page at /account/delete. Retention is asymmetric: financial and anti-money-laundering rules "often require us to keep certain information for 7 years", and identity-verification material (ID, SSN, passport, DOB, biometric face-geometry data from a third-party vendor) can be kept for compliance. Rights requests that Poshmark denies can be appealed "by writing to [email protected]". Poshmark has been a NAVER subsidiary since January 2023 but still operates as Poshmark, Inc. from 203 Redwood Shores Pkwy, Redwood City, California, and the Terms are governed by California law. Note that /account/delete, /account/export and /account/data-sharing are the exact three consumer endpoints Poshmark lists on its California AG data-broker registration.

Download your data from Poshmark first

Most platforms only honor a data-export request while the account is still active. Do this before you delete.

  1. 1Go to https://poshmark.com/account/export — the page is headed "Request A Copy Of Your Data"
  2. 2If you have an account, select "Login" and sign in so the request is tied to your account. If you do not have an account or cannot sign in, enter the email address Poshmark holds for you instead — the page states "If you do not have an account, you can still request your personal data by providing your email address"
  3. 3Select "Request Data"
  4. 4Open the verification email Poshmark sends and confirm the request. Poshmark does not complete the request unless you confirm by email, so check spam
  5. 5Wait — the confirmation screen says it may take a few days, after which Poshmark emails you a link to download your data
  6. 6Download and save the file before you delete your account, since deletion removes the underlying data the export is built from

Want to take a break instead? Deactivate

Deactivation hides your profile without permanently destroying it. Logging back in restores everything.

  1. 1Poshmark has no "deactivate" toggle, but Vacation Hold is the reversible equivalent. Poshmark documents it in the app:
  2. 2Go to your Account tab
  3. 3Select "My Seller Tools"
  4. 4Select "Vacation Hold" and choose your start and end dates
  5. 5Poshmark then displays a banner on your closet and "every listing will be marked as Not For Sale", so nobody can buy while you are away. Your closet, listings, ratings and followers stay intact, and turning Vacation Hold off puts your listings back up for sale

If deletion fails — or you live in the EU, UK, or California

You have a legal right to request erasure of your personal data under GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA (California). Use these official channels if the self-service flow doesn't work.

Poshmark deletion FAQs

Why won't Poshmark let me delete my account?+

It is almost always unfinished money. Poshmark's help article says to check that you do not have any "pending transactions, which can include unreceived orders, tracking delays, and open returns", any "redeemable balances", or any "gift cards with balances". Clear all three and retry. If you have just cashed out, you also have to wait — Poshmark "requires up to 10 business days from the time a redemption request is made prior to completing an account deletion". If a payout is stuck because your bank details are wrong, fix them before you leave: the Terms warn that after "a period of statutory required account dormancy, Poshmark will escheat any unclaimed funds to the relevant government authorities" and "may charge a dormancy fee".

Can I get my Poshmark account back after I delete it?+

Poshmark documents no reactivation window and no undo, so treat deletion as permanent — your closet, sales history, ratings, love notes and followers go with it, and returning means starting from zero. Do not plan on support reversing it either: the same help article states "we cannot process any deletion requests that are submitted through a written request to Poshmark Support", which is also how Poshmark handles the flow generally. If you only want a break, use Vacation Hold instead of deleting.

How do I delete my Poshmark data if I can't log in?+

Use https://poshmark.com/account/delete, the page Poshmark titles "Request To Delete Account and Data". It has a second path for people who cannot sign in or never registered: "If you do not have an account, you can still request to delete your data by providing your email address." Submit the email address Poshmark holds and it sends a verification email — the request is not processed unless you click through it, so check your spam folder. This is the same deletion endpoint Poshmark lists on its California Attorney General data-broker registration.

Will deleting my account erase my sales history and 1099-K?+

No. Poshmark's privacy policy says financial-transaction and anti-money-laundering rules "often require us to keep certain information for 7 years", so completed-sale records survive deletion and any tax reporting obligations are unaffected by closing the account. If you need those figures for your own bookkeeping, download your sales record or request an export at https://poshmark.com/account/export before you delete — Poshmark verifies the request by email and says preparing the file may take a few days.

Is there a way to pause Poshmark instead of deleting it?+

Yes — Vacation Hold. Poshmark documents it in the app: go to your Account tab, select "My Seller Tools", then "Vacation Hold", where you can choose start and end dates. Poshmark says a banner is displayed on your closet and "every listing will be marked as Not For Sale", so nobody can buy while you are away, but your closet, listings, ratings and followers all stay intact. This is the right choice if you are burned out rather than done.

Does deleting my account stop Poshmark selling my personal information?+

Deletion ends future collection, but if you want the sale and sharing stopped right now — or you are not ready to delete — use https://poshmark.com/account/data-sharing ("Your Opt-Out Rights", the page Poshmark links as "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information"). The privacy policy says the data Poshmark may Sell includes "email addresses, device identifiers, cookies, beacons, pixel tags, mobile ad identifiers or similar technologies, demographic information, and other information about your online activity, such as your browsing or search history". Two catches: if you are not logged in, "your opt-out will be specific to the web browser or device you use", so repeat it everywhere; and Poshmark honours the Global Privacy Control signal only if it determines "you are a resident of a state where we are legally required to respond to such signals (including but not limited to Colorado)".
