How to delete your Ko-fi account
Ko-fi is a creator-support platform that lets fans send one-time tips (a 'coffee'), subscribe to monthly memberships, and buy digital products or commissions. Ko-fi stores your profile, payout setup (PayPal or Stripe), supporter list, shop products, commission queue, gallery uploads, blog posts, and supporter messages. Ko-fi is unusual in not taking a platform fee on direct tips (unlike most peers).
Delete your Ko-fi account, step by step
- 1Sign in to ko-fi.com
- 2Go to 'Settings' or directly to ko-fi.com/manage/info
- 3Some accounts have a 'Delete account' link in Settings > Account
- 4If absent, email support@ko-fi.com requesting account deletion
- 5Subject: 'Account closure request — [your Ko-fi username]'
- 6Include username, email, and reason (optional)
- 7Ko-fi confirms via email and closes the account within 30 days
What actually happens when you delete
Gets removed

- ✓Active commissions in your queue (notify clients first)

- ✗Payment records retained for tax and AML compliance
- ✗Stripe / PayPal payout history (those services keep their own records)
- ✗Donations supporters already made are NOT refunded by closure
- ✗Cached pages on Google for some time
- ✗Comments and tips you left on other creators (re-attributed)
Before you delete
Cancel any active memberships you're providing to supporters BEFORE deletion so they're not charged for content they can't access. Settle pending payouts via Stripe or PayPal. Download your supporter list and commission queue — Ko-fi doesn't provide a one-click export. Ko-fi Gold subscribers should cancel that subscription separately. Buyers retain access to files they already downloaded but lose Ko-fi gallery access to undownloaded shop purchases.
Download your data from Ko-fi first
Most platforms only honor a data-export request while the account is still active. Do this before you delete.
- 1Ko-fi does not offer a bulk export. As a creator: download supporter list CSV (Settings > Supporters > 'Export') and your earnings CSV (Settings > Payouts). For full personal data, file a GDPR/CCPA request via privacy@ko-fi.com.

If deletion fails — or you live in the EU, UK, or California
You have a legal right to request erasure of your personal data under GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA (California). Use these official channels if the self-service flow doesn't work.
Ko-fi deletion FAQs
Will my Ko-fi supporters get refunds if I close my account?+
No. One-time tips and past membership charges are not refunded on closure. Recurring memberships should be paused or cancelled BEFORE closure to prevent future charges supporters can't enjoy. Communicate the closure to your community in advance.
What about commissions in my queue?+
Commissions in progress should be completed and delivered, refunded, or transferred to a private arrangement BEFORE closing. Once the account is gone, the commission queue tools are inaccessible and clients lose the ability to message you via Ko-fi.
How do I download my Ko-fi supporter list?+
Settings > Supporters > 'Export CSV'. This gives you names, emails (where supporters opted in), and message text. Useful for moving to a different platform or sending a closure announcement.
Will closing Ko-fi cancel Ko-fi Gold?+
Yes for the next billing cycle. Cancel Ko-fi Gold via Settings > Ko-fi Gold > 'Cancel' BEFORE submitting closure. App Store subscriptions need cancelling through Apple separately.
Can supporters still see my Ko-fi page after I delete?+
No. The page URL (ko-fi.com/[username]) returns 404. Google cache can show the page for some time but the data is gone.
What records does Ko-fi retain after I close?+
Transaction history, payout records, tax forms, and customer support interactions are retained per tax / AML regulations (typically 5–7 years). Your profile data and content are removed.
