How to delete your Quora account
Quora is a Q&A platform with hundreds of millions of users, where people ask questions and topic experts answer. Quora stores your questions, answers, comments, upvotes, downvotes, followed topics, followed users, drafts, message history, and (for Quora+ subscribers) billing information. Quora is unusual in that answers you wrote are licensed under Quora's terms and can persist anonymized even after you delete your account.
Delete your Quora account, step by step
- 1Sign in to quora.com
- 2Click your avatar (top-right) > 'Settings'
- 3Open the 'Privacy' tab
- 4Scroll to 'Delete account' at the bottom
- 5Click 'Delete account'
- 6Enter your password
- 7Confirm — account enters a 14-day grace period then is permanently deleted

Before you delete
Quora retains your answers and questions by default, attributing them to 'Anonymous' after deletion. If you want your answers REMOVED rather than anonymized, you have to either delete each answer manually BEFORE closing the account, or specifically opt in to content removal via Quora's privacy settings. Use the data export tool to grab a copy of your answers first. Cancel Quora+ before deleting.
Download your data from Quora first
Most platforms only honor a data-export request while the account is still active. Do this before you delete.

- 3Click 'Download'
- 4Quora prepares a ZIP of your answers, questions, comments, and account data
- 5Download link arrives via email, typically within a few hours

Will my Quora answers be deleted when I close my account?+
By default NO — your answers stay on Quora but are re-attributed to 'Anonymous'. Quora considers the content valuable to the platform. To actually remove answers, delete each one manually BEFORE closing the account, or check the 'Delete my content' option if Quora offers it during the deletion flow in your region.
Can I bulk-delete all my Quora answers before deletion?+
There is no built-in bulk-delete button. You can use third-party browser scripts to walk through your answers and delete each, but go slowly because Quora rate-limits aggressive deletion and may temporarily ban accounts that hit the API too hard.
What's the difference between deactivating and deleting Quora?+
Deactivation hides your profile but keeps everything — log back in any time to restore. Deletion is permanent. If you're unsure, deactivate first.
Will Quora notify the people I follow when I delete?+
No explicit notification. Your followers just stop seeing you in their feed and you disappear from their following list.
How long is the Quora deletion grace period?+
Quora holds the account for 14 days after you confirm. Logging in during that window cancels deletion. After day 14 the account is permanently removed.
Will I get a refund for unused Quora+ subscription time?+
Annual subscriptions are generally not prorated. Cancel Quora+ via Settings > Quora+ BEFORE deletion to stop the next billing cycle. App Store subscriptions cancel through Apple, not Quora.
