How to delete your Notion account
Notion is a collaborative workspace app combining notes, documents, databases, and project management. Notion stores every page and database you created across your personal and team workspaces, all uploaded files and images, edit history (with version backups), comments, mentions, AI prompts, and (for paid plans) subscription and team info. Notion accounts can be invited to multiple workspaces — deletion affects the personal account but workspace ownership is handled separately.
Delete your Notion account, step by step
- 1Sign in to notion.so on a desktop browser
- 2Click 'Settings & members' in the sidebar > 'My account'
- 3Or go to notion.so/my-account directly
- 4Scroll to 'Delete my account'
- 5Click 'Delete my account'
- 6Type DELETE in the confirmation box
- 7Enter your password
- 8Account is queued for deletion after a 30-day grace period
What actually happens when you delete

- ✗Workspace-owned files referenced in pages where you weren't the workspace admin
Before you delete
Export your personal workspaces (Markdown, HTML, or PDF) BEFORE deletion. If you're a workspace owner with other members, you must transfer ownership or close the workspace first. Cancel Notion Plus, Business, or AI add-ons BEFORE deletion to stop billing. Notion AI's history (your AI prompts and responses) is deleted with the account. Workspaces where you were just a member continue without you.
Download your data from Notion first
Most platforms only honor a data-export request while the account is still active. Do this before you delete.

- 2Click 'Export all workspace content'
- 3Choose format: Markdown & CSV (recommended), HTML, or PDF
- 4Include 'Include subpages' and 'Include databases as CSV' for completeness
- 5Notion generates a ZIP within minutes to hours; download link appears in-app and via email

- 1To stop being notified without deletion: Settings & members > Notifications > toggle off email and push notifications

You have a legal right to request erasure of your personal data under GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA (California). Use these official channels if the self-service flow doesn't work.
Notion deletion FAQs
Will deleting my Notion account remove pages I shared with a team?+
Pages in workspaces owned by others stay with the workspace. Your contributions are re-attributed to 'former user'. Pages in workspaces YOU own are deleted (after the 30-day grace period).
How do I export my Notion content before deletion?+
For each workspace: Settings & members > Settings > 'Export all workspace content'. Choose Markdown & CSV for machine-readable export, or HTML/PDF for human-readable. Subpages and databases must be included via the export options. Large workspaces can take an hour or more.
What's the difference between deleting my Notion account and deleting a workspace?+
Workspace deletion (Settings > General > 'Delete workspace') affects one workspace only. Account deletion removes your identity across all workspaces — you lose access to every workspace you owned or were a member of.
Will my Notion AI prompts and history be deleted?+
Yes, AI chat history tied to your user account is removed with the account. AI-generated content already inserted into pages remains as page content in workspaces you don't own.
What about my Notion Calendar (formerly Cron)?+
Notion Calendar is integrated with your Notion account. Deleting the Notion account unlinks Calendar from your Google/Microsoft calendars but the underlying calendar data on Google/Microsoft stays intact.
Can I download my Notion data after I delete my account?+
No. After deletion confirmation and the 30-day grace, you lose access entirely. Always export BEFORE submitting deletion.
